Paradise Beach, Thassos: A famous beach that justifies its name

Paradise Beach, Thassos, is a beautiful beach in an exceptional natural environment. Its name alone explains why this gorgeous beach, the gem of Thassos as it is said, took this name.

Paradise Beach, Thassos, is 25 kilometres away from the island’s capital, Limenas. The road to Paradise Beach is from a certain point onwards a ribbon-shaped dirt road passing through the mountain. This part of the road might be long and through rocky grounds, but it is accessible by any conveyance. Next to the beach there is a big parking space for your vehicles.

If you don’t have a car, you may descend the road on foot. The walk might be somehow difficult, but the beauty of the unique scenery will certainly recompense you.

Paradise Beach, Thassos - perhaps the most beautiful beach on the island

Blue and clear water, the shadow of pines and platans up to the sea: this is a simple description of the area, which is actually even prettier. Paradise Beach, Thassos, is an ideal place to escape daily routine, because of the silence and the peace it breathes.

The beach of Paradise is distant and quite private, with shallow water and sparkling sand, surrounded by all-green overgrown hills. The lucky visitors relaxing on the beach have one of the greatest views to the big blue of the Aegean Sea.

Opposite to the beach of Paradise in Thassos, a small private islet emerges from the sea, Koinyriotiko, which is another paradise of the area with low vegetation, oleasters and rocky beaches. The islet is frequented by dolphins, which are most of the times visible from Paradise Beach. At the wider area, the visitor may discover many brooks in the pines, which are one of the most basic reasons for the dense vegetation of the area that is quite similar to tropical vegetation.

The beach of Paradise in Thassos is for many people the most beautiful of the island and therefore it is very popular during the summer. Especially during the peak season in the months of July and August, visitors are generally too many and there is not enough free space for the bathers. As a result, the best season to enjoy the beach and the beautiful surroundings is May, June and of course September, which is the best month to visit Thassos.

Despite the fact that Paradise Beach, Thassos, is the most famous beach of the island, it is a fact that the area is relatively remote compared to other beaches, which is not necessarily bad. You may find a snack-bar with parasols and sun beds in the beach.

Paradise Beach, Thassos - a place with interesting history

Paradise Beach, Thassos, is close to Koinyra, a gorgeous village famous since antiquity. Archaeological excavations here have discovered some significant findings dated from ancient Greek and Roman era. Paradise Beach is the natural continuation of Koinyra beach.

The area of Paradise, Thassos, was unknown to the first modern travellers who visited the island. Paradise and its beautiful beach were initially “discovered” by groups of nudists, who continue enjoying the magnificent nature until today. Nowadays, at the end of the beach and its rocky part, there are gathered the adorers of nature and nudism from all over the world, since this is the only organized, partly nudists’ beach of Thassos.

The scenery and the beach of Paradise in Thassos resembles mostly to a Caribbean beach or a beach in an exotic island of the Pacific than to a beach in an island of the Aegean Sea, such as Thassos. When visiting the island, you should pay a visit to this divine part of the island called Paradise Beach, Thassos.
